MANCHESTER FOOD RESEARCH CENTRE

Sensory Evaluation Suite

Sensory evaluation is recognised by many manufacturers as a means of assessing the quality of foods. Our facility has been designed and constructed to the high standards necessary for the critical evaluation of foods. There are eight individual taste panel booths where the panellists sit. Each has a water supply, a small sink and variable lighting. The whole area is air conditioned under positive pressure, sound-proofed and supplied with comfortable seating. The preparation area contains facilities for preparation and service of hot and cold foods as well as computers with software appropriate for the analysis of results.
