MANCHESTER FOOD RESEARCH CENTRE

The Open Professional Programme has been designed to meet the demands of employers. It provides a bite-sized approach to teaching, alongside work-based learning. Individuals on industry focussed short courses can accrue university credits over time and so the programme provides a new progression route for learners employed in the food and drink industry. Courses are flexible in terms of delivery, but typically involve 3 days contact time, with additional self-directed study and a final assessment.

We offer a portfolio of units designed to benefit your personal and professional advancement. You will be able to accrue credits over time to gain a formal University qualification (such as a University Certificate or Diploma). Prior to attending one of our OPP courses you will be expected to have completed a preparatory exercise (approximately 8 hours) to enable you to make full use of your time on University premises. The units are assessed through the submission of one piece of coursework taking approximately 18 hours to research and complete.

OPP units cost £620 and upon successful completion of your assignment, you will be awarded 5 credits.
