Haleh Moravej - Senior Consultant

Haleh is a senior lecturer in Applied Nutrition at MMU and the managing director of her own private Nutrition Clinic based at Claremont Hospital in Sheffield. Haleh has a degree in Biomedical Sciences and a keen interest in the role that our diets play in the health of the mind and body. This interest developed in her years working on her masters in medical science working with Weightwatchers Ltd looking at the effects of carbohydrates on mood and later working on her PhD at St George's Hospital on the psychobiology of eating disorders and gastrointestinal problems connected to cortisol levels in chronic stress.
 
In the MFRC, Haleh offers friendly advice and provides consultancy services to colleagues in the food industry as well as developing healthy specialist recipes for schools and elderly clients in the Manchester community.
 
Haleh is an 'Enterprise Champion' within MMU and is enthusiastic about introducing creativity, entrepreneurship and lateral thinking in research and teaching.
