Employers and the self employed have a legal duty to assess health and safety risks. Anyone carrying out a risk assessment needs to have the necessary knowledge and skills. This qualification ensures that supervisors and managers have the necessary depth of understanding to enable them to carry out risk assessments.

Supervisors or managers responsible for conducting risk assessments

What qualifications or experience do I need to do this course?
None.

How long is the course and when will it be taught?
The taught element of the course takes 7 hours (one full day). In addition, you will be expected to spend in the region of 12 hours completing the assignment and self-evaluation.

Which qualifications will I be awarded if I successfully complete the course?
Level 3 Award in Risk Assessment Principles and Practice from the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH). 

Suggested progression on completion:
Advanced Certificate in Health & Safety in the Workplace.
