MANCHESTER FOOD RESEARCH CENTRE

During 2007 the North West Food Centre merged with the Food Research Unit at Hollings Faculty, Manchester Metropolitan University to create the Manchester Food Research Centre (MFRC) which offers an unparalleled business support resource. The Centre provides a range of consultancy, applied research services and training to business and public sector clients and operates regionally and nationally.

The MFRC is currently supporting over 100 food and drink businesses in the Northwest and has successfully completed more than 20 Knowledge Transfer Partnerships in the food science, technology, manufacturing and marketing sectors.  The Centre has been designated a ‘Centre of Excellence’ by the Northwest Regional Development Agency for its work in providing business support to start-up companies and more established Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs).
